Missing key figures like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a commanding win that virtually secures them a place in the Conference League playoffs.
Another victory in their next fixture against Finland's KuPS should be sufficient to seal direct entry to the last 16, especially after a previous stumble against Strasbourg.

This match offered a platform for several Palace's lesser-used talent to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second start after joining on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a clinical goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah added a another, finding the net for the second consecutive succession.
A Shelbourne team that had finished their domestic season proved no match even for a mostly second-string Palace outfit. The visitors were already weakened by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg problems.

Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw key players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse came close to scoring his first touch, but saw his shot blocked.
Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off each posts before being clasped on the line. Uche then missed a sitter of a chance, indicating there is still room for development in his game.
The only concern for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, capping an otherwise positive evening for the traveling side.
