Vinted Shoppers Voice Displeasure About Size Updates

Members of the platform have expressed outrage after an update resulted in items being listed as the wrong size.

The popular resale platform has altered its measurement guidelines for female and kids' apparel failing to inform every member regarding the update.

Social Media Response

Countless users and merchants are posting online saying Vinted listings now show a different size category compared to what was initially listed as a result of the reclassification.

The company said the updated approach better aligns with comparable marketplaces.

It has advised users to check their listings and update the measurements by hand where appropriate, causing user dissatisfaction.

Sizing System Modifications

Before the change, the sizes had both a single numeric size and a letter, for instance S/8 or M/10.

The revised method features a letter and a range like S/UK 8-10.

With some products, the sizing has been recategorised - like an L measurement was previously a 12 but is now a UK 16-18.

User Accounts

Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".

"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," which is what Vinted now does.

Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, said garments she listed featuring size 14 markings were showing in the marketplace as larger sizing 20-22.

"If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they may become frustrated," she stated.

Necessary Adjustments

Charlotte Lunn, located in England, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizes on "every single listing".

"This situation is especially annoying, because of my ongoing medical condition and selling on Vinted has been paramount following partial earnings loss," she stated.

Service Background

The service features exceeding 100 million members, comprising 18 million UK members.

It has become a favored option compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.

This represents another occasion that an unexpected update within the service has received backlash: last year, the platform withdrew an update regarding delivery choices after backlash from users.
